You can't step into the same river twice

I thought when I came home two years ago from that nursing home that I would simply slot back into my life the way it had been before I had the fall but as the then saying goes you can't step into the same river twice neighbours and friends had died or moved new people have come. I was ok walking inside but walking outside is more difficult although at the beginning it wasn't too bad after I broke my wrist it was more difficult. but although I've had sepsis I have not Honda severe chest infections that nearly killed me there I have suffered a lot of emotional pain more of which was caused me by the woman totp whom I paid a lot of money to get the house ready for me but when I think of the faces of some of the people in the nursing home who looked as if they had died before they were dead then I know that I did the then I know that I did the right thing

 I have spend some in the last 3 months with someone with dementia and I have begun to understand what is troubling her. I just mentioned that she can't walk about anymore so she is more dependant on carers to find her a wheelchair sometimes she has to wait quite a long time because it needs two people to get her from bed into the wheelchair. So I suppose she wonders if they are actually going to do it It must be very frustrating for her It's this. Intimacy and friendship

Although living in a care home can be extremely lonely, i it's possible to get very close to somebody. I got a very close to a lady of 100 who had dementia but it took time. the start with qu she the she was aggressive because I could not do what she wanted, but gradually got to trust me. after about 8 months she said to me one day that she knew it was me who was putting her blanket around because she said you are so gentle. then she said I love you. when she had been asking me to kill her ;that was quite a big advance. despite the fact that I had to leave the Home I don't think it's the wastr of time spending it with her. I think the fact that she felt she loved me which I think was genuine is good experience for her. despite the horrible boredom and frustration of her illness she was still able to make contact with another person and to be grateful for what she was receiving and I think even that small amount of care would give her spirit some comfort. Assisted death may reduce the need for nursing homes which will lead to less profits for the company

It' possible that in a few years people with severe orterminal illness may be able to choose to die when they no longer feel their life is worth living because of pain disability or other factors. it's possible that nursing homes may close because people don't want to spend once or years lying in bed wearing nappers being fed my careers unable to do anything but watch the television and having f noew visitors. would you not rather die than be like that
