There is a lady here with dementia and she walked round and round the building a lot
At the beginning she walk around just ones and said goodnight to everybody After is
Christmas she started doing it 3 times 4 times 5 times and eventually one day she came to my room 30 times to say goodnight and she'll say him to ask me to lend her some pyjamas which I could not do. When we try to stop her from coming round she can get quite angry.
There's another lady the same age she's not got dementia but she subs and cries a good deal and she can't walk by herself she has to have a carer or two hairs help her to get out of bed into a chair.
She has got very distressed with the woman called Edna and goes round and round say goodnight afraid of her
On Saturday I was with the second lady let's call her Magus huge
It's not just nursing homes wider society is very bad in many ways
you may think that I am giving nusr pHing homes a hard time by criticizing what I experienced and what I saw but I would go even further and say that many of the things that happened there which are unkind cruel or wrong happen in the wilder society as well 40% of dementia is preventable with who is more likely to get it? it's the poor of course some people may be able to make wonderful meals very cheaply but enough everybody can do that and if you are short of money and anxious about the cost of living it doesn't make it easy to race away from sheets ready-made food
