Nursing home abuse

According to the article I posted about nursing home problems in the United States their estimate that one in six people in a nursing home has been subject to abuse. It can be emotional psychological, physical and financial is also not unusual in families. but if you put your relative into a nursing home thinking that you're doing the best thing possible for them unless you keep an eye on them by visiting regularly you do not know what is going on and even if they themselves realize is wrong, they may be afraid or nervous of what they can do. sometimes it's not the people in the nursing home are abusing them: in the United Kingdom people in private nursing homes supervised by the local NHS community team.The highest ranking people there are the matrons. and I should know because I have been abused by a Matron if you look vulnerable or theyre in a bad temper it's very easy for them to vent their rage on you. I should know because it's happened to me personally. if the person has dementia then no one needs to accept that they are saying the right thing and that it's not a delusion of course in every part of life in every community every office every school there are problems of communication, when what you think you are said to somebody is not what they hear. when I said to this woman she had hurt me this was a few months after the original influence she replied well the truth does hurt. To me that does not make sense I forgot them what she thinks the truth was that she was telling me. she mocked my sisters long term cancer so I' that my sister will be dead in a few weeks she went into details he said my sister's organs started with the the heart would fail one by one and then she would die. I have not checked on this what my sister is still alive 10 months after her diagnosis and feels doing better. none of us know how long we're going to live but my sister is very important to me. she was going to help me to get out of this place'. he was going to die very soon I would never be able to get out fortunately I have found some I have found some professional help. if this is successful I will start to write my book with my computer which is not with me here.

Although living in a care home can be extremely lonely, i it's possible to get very close to somebody. I got a very close to a lady of 100 who had dementia but it took time. the start with qu she the she was aggressive because I could not do what she wanted, but gradually got to trust me. after about 8 months she said to me one day that she knew it was me who was putting her blanket around because she said you are so gentle. then she said I love you. when she had been asking me to kill her ;that was quite a big advance. despite the fact that I had to leave the Home I don't think it's the wastr of time spending it with her. I think the fact that she felt she loved me which I think was genuine is good experience for her. despite the horrible boredom and frustration of her illness she was still able to make contact with another person and to be grateful for what she was receiving and I think even that small amount of care would give her spirit some comfort. Dementia is physical illness

 I have been visiting   two people with dementia. One who shouts and screams a lot is quite rational if you can get used to her and calm her,  and be  present with your body. Sometimes she likes to hear me sing,  to talk about her childhood  At other times she will say that But at times she can't control herself she can't listen and have a conversation so she is able to reflect.she can't walk and at the moment she is in her room all day. Extroverted so she doesn't like to be alone all the time but sometimes I've heard the staff sayings of someone in a similar situation. We don't do one-to-one caring here. We have got a lot of other people times look after. One-to-one caring is what you need and you could only get that in a different kind of home As it happens  there are fewer people here than there were. The hospital was nearly as bad as the home in some ways

I was in hospital for 2 weeks and in some ways it was similar. fewer nurses more carers in the home we were washed ourselves very well every morning in the hospital it was less than once every two days. look at least in the hospital there are witnesses to what happens namely the other patients and the other staff. And there is PALS that is very good indeed as long as you speak out properly.
